It’s been an interesting couple weeks! Last week I had three companions in one week, which was fun but super crazy.
I said goodbye to Sister Benedict, which was super sad! I love her so much. She’s serving in Oslo now, which is really close to Lillestrøm. I picked up Sister Gillam and we were companions for 3 days. It was so fun to get to know her a little bit! We have a lot in common so I really enjoyed talking to her.
Yesterday we met with someone that the missionaries were teaching a long time ago. It was a really good lesson, and we think she might be ready to be baptized soon. We’re really excited for her. She believes that the Church of Jesus Christ is really Jesus Christ’s church restored to the earth, and she believes that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. She has a few things about becoming a member that she worries will be hard, but I think she will have the faith soon to make that leap.
My companion now is Sister Deere. She’s from Tennessee, and she’s going home to the US in just over 2 weeks. It’s crazy serving with someone who has been here in Norway for like 16 months. She’s really good at Norwegian and I’ve learned a lot from her already.
I’ve been reading the book Jesus the Christ, and I only have a few pages left. I’ve learned a lot about the life of Jesus Christ, but it’s also a product of its time (1915). I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about Jesus Christ with that in mind! I learned that my favorite scripture was spoken at the end of Jesus’ last teaching to His apostles before He died.
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
I feel so blessed to have the knowledge that Jesus Christ truly has overcome the world and that he truly has “borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4).” There are so many things that I don’t understand, but I do know that Jesus is and was the Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of all mankind.
I love you all and hope you’re doing well!
You’re in my prayers.
