On the way to China, we had a flight cancelled and ended up with a day in Japan.  We found this bamboo forest
as we wandered around a town called Sakura north of Tokyo.  Really stunning.

And what luck, our one day in Japan and it was the cherry blossom week.

 
We also went into Tokyo and visited MeiJingu shrine and gardens.
